Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Kindle Book Studio (the "Service"). By creating an account, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. The Service
Kindle Book Studio is an AI-assisted writing tool that helps you draft, edit, and format manuscripts for Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) and other formats. The AI writing features are powered by Anthropic's Claude API.
2. Your account
You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use this Service.
3. Your content
You retain full ownership of any manuscript, text, or other content you create using the Service ("Your Content"). We do not claim any ownership rights over Your Content.
You're solely responsible for Your Content, including ensuring you have the rights to publish it and that it doesn't infringe on anyone else's rights or violate any law.
4. AI-generated content
The Service uses AI to help generate and edit text based on your prompts. AI-generated suggestions may occasionally be inaccurate, generic, or require editing. You are responsible for reviewing and editing any AI-generated content before publishing it, and for ensuring it complies with Amazon KDP's content policies and any applicable laws.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Generate content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes on intellectual property rights of others.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
- Use the Service to generate spam, malware, or other harmful content.
- Resell or redistribute access to the Service without our permission.
6. Subscriptions and billing
Some features of the Service may require a paid subscription. Where applicable:
- Subscriptions are billed automatically on a recurring basis (e.g. monthly) until cancelled.
- Payment is processed by Stripe; we do not store your full payment card details.
- You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings — you'll retain access until the end of your current billing period.
- Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
During any period where the Service is offered for free (e.g. an early-access period), no payment is required and these billing terms do not yet apply.
7. Service availability
We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that AI-generated content will be accurate, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kindle Book Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify users via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
